| this is a tribute to a great friend and an even greater horse....may their love go on forever!

YEEHAW!!! | | |
| hmm...right at a month. that's pretty good for me. So I just got back from my first business trip with Bell. Poor me, I had to go all the way to Ft. Lauderdale for 10 whole days! Terrible! Seriously though, it was a whole lot of fun and a great experience. I'm just glad i got the opportunity to go. I needed a break from my regular job, which sufficed to say, is rather boring at times. And just when i was starting to hit a slump, i get assigned to set up a frickin helicopter for an army tradeshow! Way to go God! Man, He never ceases to amaze me.
Speaking of which, i went to a Chris Tomlin concert while in Florida and heard a guy named Louie Giglio speak. Since it was the "Indescribable Tour", he illustrated the greatness and majesty of God using astronomy. It is breathtaking to think that our Lord was creative enough to think up all this stuff. Check out some of the pics below and I dare you to try and tell me that they just "happened" and were not divinely designed out of nothing by my God.

Sombrero Galaxy (28 million light years from Earth, 50000 LY across)

M51 Whirlpool Galaxy and Companion Galaxy (23 million LY from Earth, 65000 LY across)

Earth, as viewed from 3.7 Billion miles away.
To go even further, each galaxy contains billions upon billions of stars, and there are billions and billions of galaxies! And God knows every single one! But even further still, past all the vast beauty of the heavens and their infinite expanse, God still chose to love us and to send his son for us. Wow...I really am at a loss for words whenever I keep thinking about that...it completely amazes me.
OK, subject change in 3...2...1...now! Here are some pics from my FL trip. I'll probably post more of them on FB later, but here are some for starters.
My Choppah!
definitely wasnt ready for that one...
new friends from FBC ft. lauderdale.
Ang and Andrea...two Oklahoma girls living it up on the beach! They've definitely added to my appreciation for our "neighbor from the north".
Ok that was a ridiculously long post...but it did have a lot of pictures for those of you who prefer that type of reading...
| Wow, gotta shake the dust off this bad boy. I'm not even sure if I remember how to do this anymore. I can't promise a brilliantly eloquent discourse after such an extended xanga sabbatical, but I will do my best.
So I just remembered something today. I absolutely love watching basketball! But not these cushy overpaid NBA players, who whine because they can't come "thugged" out to watch a game. No, I like college ball because these guys have something to prove...they do it just for the simple fact that they want to be the best (well that and a shot at the pros....but still).
So while we're talking about that, major props go out to the Georgetown Hoyas not only for beating the undefeated #1 Duke, but for the way they did it. That was some of the best passing in a game that I've seen in a while. Now if you've even been to a game or discussed basketball at all with me, you'd know my dissertation on "what's wrong with basketball today" (along with accompanying series "what's wrong with debt/credit today" as well as "what's wrong with patio furniture today"). So it was nice to see some real teamwork (read "actually passing the ball") used to overtake a seemingly untouchable opponent.
Speaking of awesome games....HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!

...and my new favorite hat

ok, so that post really wasn't a deep probing look at the inner recesses of my soul...but it's a start.
P.S. My new truck's name shall NOT be "Fancy"....just fyi
| Ugh...i now have a severe dislike for car salesmen. If any of your close friends or relatives are car sales-"persons"...this is not directed at them because i'm sure that you would not be in cahoots with the likes of a slick salesman like I encountered tonight. I swear I can go my whole life without hearing the phrases: "Well, let me check and see what we can do", "So, what payments can you afford", or my absolute un-favorite "What do I need to do to get your business tonight". Yes I had all three of those used on me several times tonight......bah. Ok, that's my rant....
Other than that, LIFE IS GREAT! I'm liking my job pretty good so far and my free apt. is sweet. It's gonna be tough when I actually have to start paying rent in a month...haha. I get my first paycheck next Friday though. I'm not gonna know what to do with myself since i've been broke for the past 4 years :).
Visited a church in Ft. Worth last Sunday....that was pretty cool. I don't want to rush things, but i'm definitely ready to get into some ministries and involved in a church family. Yup, this is me gettin used to life in the "real" world. It's a lot different than the LU bubble (thank God...haha). It's quite different trying to live for Him when you're in such close contact with a lot of people who don't. I wouldn't say I regret not being exposed to much of that at LU, but I do see it as something I need to work on.
Aight peepies, that's it! If you're ever in the Dallas area....CALL ME! or you will be plagued by the body odor of 793 overweight couch potatoes, and believe me...you don't want that!
| So it's official! I'm bound for Arlington to work at Bell Helicopter! I can't even begin to tell how excited I am, and how thankful to God I am....all in His timing. It totally blows me away. I mean I knew He had good plans for me, Jer. 29:11, but it's one thing to "know" that and to have faith in it and another to experience it firsthand....man, our Lord is cool!
Ok, now some random happenings/revelations/stuff::
I realized while driving today that no two guy/girl relationships will ever be the same, or behave in the same manner. I mean, there are definitely characteristics to good relationships, but i realized that it is futile and ridiculous to try to compare one to another as far as the "right" way to go about things. It defies understanding (which is hard for me to come to realize, cuz I like to understand...well everything).
That's the beauty of the person that God has for you; God puts it together for His glory. I've found that a lot of the time God does the most unexpected things and carries out his plans in such crazy ways at times, that our only choice is to acknowledge his grace and power at work. Check it out in your local Bible...good stuff. Now you're probably thinking that all this stuff is a little weird for a single guy to be yammering about...and you might be partially right. All i know is that God is continually molding me to become the man that he has chosen for some wonderful (and lucky ..jk) lady. Aight, enough romanticism...time for the real meat and potatoes of this post.
I really really really want a new truck....and I'd like to introduce you all to my primary choice. Ladies and gentlemen, the 2005 Toyota Tacoma!!!

OH YES!!! The one I want is, of course, black with a light platinum metal flake....soooo hot! I got to test drive one in Dallas this weekend, which was....well AWESOME! 245 neck-whipping horsepower at your fingertips through a 6-speed tranny and a limited slip diff....<insert Tim Taylor grunts here...and lots of them>. Yup, i've got truck-lust....
Also, I'm addicted to Hell's Kitchen. I know, i know....you're saying to yourself "How could you be addicted to a reality show...on FOX?!" but it's true.
So if any of you know anyone who lives in Arlington or Grand Prarie and needs a roomie, give me and them a holla...cuz that'd be great not to have to live alone and swing rent by myself. That's all i got folks!
